Does anybody know who does good restoration work in the Louisiana/Texas/Mississippi area? Looking for a professional person that knows these trucks inside and out.

Yes. It's frame off now, and a lot of the work has been done. The work that's been done has been done very professionally.

If you want super nice quality and money is not a problem Gary Terry "The Cheyenne Superman" in Abilele Tx builds awsome trucks. Jerry Brown "The Truck Shop " in Crossville TN is in the same catagory. These guys are some of the pioneers when it comes to building and saleing parts for 67/72 trucks.

As far as the information is concerned, this Forum is the best place in the world to get the true low-down. As far as the best professional to do the job? My guess is that's YOU!!!!

Here's why I say that: I've been turning wrenches since I have been 16. Never very well, until I turned about 45 when I started building Harleys in earnest. Before that, it was only switching out parts
(I usually switched the most expensive part first...just because I was lame).

Oh, I could change an exhaust or intake manifold on a non-smog V-8 okay. But then, I bought a '72 swb Chevy with a crap motor and trans. I started reading and asking questions. I got help for the muscle.
And the brains. In short, I was never in a hurry...I made it a hobby. Now, other than lower ends on the motor, or getting deeper inside the auto trans than the screen/filter, wrenching calls to me.
And, the fact that *I* do it makes it mine. But that's just my take.

I still have to ask for help. And I do it without any ego. That's just the way I roll.

Of course, that's not the question you asked. Everybody has their own way to "get r done", as the guy says. And I respect any way you, or any body else does it. Not saying you do, but personally,
I just flat-out couldn't afford to, or want to do it with a checkbook.

I sure don't know how to do body work or paint. So, sealed up primer it'll be until the checkbook gets fattened up.

Just an FYI that Cheyenne super man told me he wasn't building any more but you can always call him to verify. Also an FYI....his last trucks they built sold for 60-70K!!!

They build TOP notch trucks and truck parts. I am getting a lot of stuff for my truck build from him.

Looks like the power steering reservoir. I think the BB trucks were like that.

It's pretty interesting that those trucks that fetch the big bucks are over-restored (better than they left the factory). Not even tower clamps or stamped hoses.

Also under the hood to shiny.Should be a satin black and i bet the front wheel wells are shiny also.Looks like the bolt kit is wrong also. I want my truck back to chevrolet spec.

here is one we did for a board member, not a grease pencil over spray concours, but very nice stock truck that we added a number of factory options too it originally did not have.

Yep, I had a set of inners already painted the correct factory code satin and was going to do everything else correctly, but after hearing what Jerry Brown and CSM get for their "better than new" trucks....I decided I'd do a very nice restoration on my 72 super.....one that takes it a step over stock to include the "curb appeal" items. I consulted a couple of the respected vendors and members on here who also agreed that would get me top dollar for the truck...

Seems the market is very limited for guys looking to BUY a 100% restoration. Think about it. Would you buy a 100% restoration? Or would you want to BUILD it yourself? I'd want to build it myself to make sure it was all done correctly...

...I do have date coded upper and lower hoses though

I can't tell.... what color are the inners.... gloss black? Anyone know if the grille bracket is the same color gray as the hood latch and hinges on the black truck?

even tho most people try to get a truck down to every part factory But i see the HEI change why Not have the edalbrock 600 or 650 there a better carb and lot more easyer to work on

The restomod trucks do sale better.That is a brand new qjet by edelbrock .the last 4 out of 5 trucks I have bought have had 1406 or 1407 edelbrock and they are good carbs.The only problem I have with them is kits are high.I just bought 3 and they were $60 ea.I bought 1 for the qjet and it was $20.

My problem is I don't have a shop to do the work myself. That's why I'm selling mine wich doesn't need much to finish but I just don't have the time or place to do it right now. Once I sell it, I will be looking for one already finished to my liking.
