Squares with Slotted Mags

Post 'em up!

My buddy just gave me a set of cherry slotted mags, 5 on 5 bolt pattern, 15x7's for the front, 15x10's for the rear. I'm in the process of polishing them up now... got two done and they are looking awesome. Anyhow, I plan on running them on my '73 to replace the rockets that are on it. I love the look of the rockets, but the universal lug holes are worbled out and I just can't get them centered... the mags are direct bolt up.

Just wanted to see some other squares with slots...

Re: Squares with Slotted Mags

I am working on getting a set ready for my '74 also. I picked up a set of 15x7's from Jeff (Bigblock 73), and have some 15x8.5's also. I figured I would send the worst ones out and have them refinished, it would be a lot cheaper than buying new ones.

Re: Squares with Slotted Mags

I haven't taken any pics of mine yet. They were a little weathered and dirty. I first cleaned with a spray on mag wheel cleaner that I picked up from O'Reilly's. I forget the brand exactly, but in came in a silver plastic spray bottle... smells like oven cleaner. You spray the stuff on, let it sit for 30 secs, then hose it off. I was amazed! By just doing that, the wheels looked 100 times better. I then polished (two so far) them with Mothers Mag Wheel polish. You can almost see yourself in them. I'll snap some shots soon and post them up...

Re: Squares with Slotted Mags

A couple of my 15x7's have been spray painted (?) silver, so that needs to come off. I had teh ones on my yellow '73 refinished, and they turned them on a lathe. It looked pretty trick, almost like a CD or something. I will probably have this set polished out, though. U.S. Mags are being reproduced, but they are ~ $180 each. I can do a lot of polishing for that.

Exactly the sizes I'm running. All BFG Radial T/A's. I'm going to need to replace the rears soon and 295's seem to be getting a little rare. I hope to find another pair of T/A's when the time comes.
