In a Quandry

I have a 48 GMC 100 3 window It has the built 320 six, a t5, disc brakes all the way around, a 68 12 bolt. I built it to race at Maxton, did so and set a class record. I would like to go back, but the time and money just aren't as plentiful as they once were. I have realized that I just don't drive this truck.I have not started it since Thanksgiving. It is a combination of things, other interests, really poor MPG (6+or-) and lack of overall street manners( tall intake, poor low end performance etc). So do I try to sell the complete truck, I would need $6500, or do I salvage the drive train and build some thing that would be more fun, and sell the truck minus engine and trans for 2000 or so.
