Custom frame ideas

I got my 52 Chevy frame stripped down this weekend to see what I had to work with. The frame is in ok shape in most areas, but I am thinking it may be easier to build most of the frame new. I have a mustang II already, so I was thinking of using just the front clip of the original frame, and build the rest myself. Anybody done this before? What size tubing should the back be? Where should I cut the old frame at? I will be using coils up front and may put bags on the rear, so I want to build in a notch too. Im thinking the easiest way would be to brace up the front end and cut it, fabricate the two new frame rails and attach them.
