In the beginning there was a 69 party (eyebrows up)

I bought my 69' C10 SWB Dec. 31, 2010. Knowing that I was going to be doing a ground up, older school hot rod (not old school) on this project, I figured some harmless, inebriated, contributions to the cause would be fun. (Given the flirty 69' year model and the fact that is was new years eve...)

As to not bore anyone with too many pesky words and descriptions, I'll start with the bright shinny pictures, some what pop-up-book style, just to get your attention.

As purchased Dec. 31, 2010

Rattle can white, plywood floor board (yep, covering huge holes), and an engine bay full of wires going nowhere. Prepare to be amazed!

Durring the New Years Party, I had a brilliant idea. Who wants to tag the Truck?

On to the build. I started with chassis. Replace everything with new components and bagN the son-O-gun.

While I waited on parts and peices to arrived, the typical cleaning and degreasing and bla bla bla stuff went on. I decided to remove body molding, mirrors and such and start filling holes.

Cleaning and prepping the rear. My beautify girlfriend made a cameo appearance and did a great job DE-Gunking the rear end.

I went back and replaced my trailing arm bushings, trimmed my crossmember a tad, and primed and painted.

An adjustable panhard rod is needed I think... The frame was way off center.

Re: In the beginning there was a 69 party (eyebrows up)

Now to pre install my gas tank, and build all my brackets for my air system and to relocate my battery. Once all of it is installed and I am happy about them. It will all be removed and the frame finished prepped and then painted.

Re: In the beginning there was a 69 party (eyebrows up)

We threw the bed back on so I would know what I had to work with. And to allow me to make some adjustments for how I want it to sit aired out and ride hight. The rear will be coming down another 3/4" and I will be done with how I want it. for now...

Re: In the beginning there was a 69 party (eyebrows up)

what wheel and tire size are you running? I kinda have the same story with my truck. With it sitting helplessly in the garage on my bithday my friends showed up for the party and after a few hours of fun my truck had a new shade of color. my wife played the key role due to a fact that my truck was 13 different colors and she hated to ride in it. she use to say that it looked like a crayola box threw up on it.
