I found a '67 C-10 I'm interested in with a rebuilt high performance 350. Its even been recently repainted exactly the color I would have chosen . Down side is that it has the small back window and I really like the big back window. Any easy way to retrofit the large window on a '67, or is it a hassle involving a donor cab and large amounts of body shop time and dollars?

Buy it and drive it like it is or buy something else.

Making the small window in to the big window via grafting from a donor would be a big time pain, plus you'd end up repainting (read major $$$). To do that to a small window 67 would be foolish especially since there are many trucks out there and the majority are the large window variety. At the very least it would be easier to swap cabs IMO.

I trade a large window cab for a small window cab of equal shape in a heartbeat, they look the best to me.

Ewwww. That's an ugly thought. It would probably involve a donor vehicle, cutting wheel, MIG welder, grinder, maybe some Bondo and a lot of measuring. The fit would have to be perfect to prevent leaks, and then you would have to have it repainted. I personally would just live with the small window. There are a lot of big window trucks out there, the small windows are kind of unique

Thanks for the info y'all. What you are telling me is what I thought too. Drive it as it is. Truck seems in GREAT shape, so looks like if I get it I'll learn to love a small back window.

Yep, only made them in 67. Another reason why 67's are the best!

I think small windowz really grow on you. When I was looking for a truck, I wanted anything that wasn't a small window- I HATED THEM. Right now though I would trade my cab anyday for a small window. Kind of like the color Ochre It grows on you

I'd much rather have a small window as well. A friend of mine picked up an all original 42,000 mile 67 with the small window, and I keep getting him to try to give it up, but he loves it too much.

The only downside to a small window, as I see it, is you can't replace it with a sliding window. At least I've never seen a small sliding rear window. My '67 has the large rear window (sliding), but it's hard to tell what year the cab is. The VIN tag says '67, but it has been taken off at least once, that I know of, to acid dip the cab (long before I bought it). Oh well, the state says everthing is legit. I really doubt there are two parts on my truck that left the factory together.

They did make a small window slider insert. I doubt it was made by GM. I have seen them in several trucks before. I found one in the salvage yard but it was in bad shape. Also, if you think you have a blind spot with the small back window, loose another 50% viewing with all the aluminum trim in a slider.

Agree with the visibility issue, but you can get some air moving through the cab with that back window open. Helps a lot when the A/C decides to blow warm, like yesterday. Gotta find that leak.

You can get a slider from GMC Pauls. That's where I got mine from . I was around $110 with shipping included. Not too hard to put in either, I had it tinted 1st though. Allows alot more air to come through...

I went a looked at a small windwo cab about a month ago and passed on it because it had the small window. Was one of the most rust free trucks I have ever looked at and the guy was only wanting 1000 bucks for the truck and an extra small block.
