What's a good price for these wheels/Hubcaps???
I need your guys help! I have a guy selling a set of 6x5.5 lug 15" steel wheels and some hubcaps. He said the wheels are on his 66 c-10. Will this 6x5.5 pattern fit my '70 cst-10? Now I've been looking for some 6 lug 15" steel wheels for quite some time and have had no luck! I have a set of 6 lug chrome smoothies, that I've been looking to trade for the right set of steelies/hubcaps. These look to be in good shape but i dont really care for the hubcaps. He said he thinks the caps are from either a Nova or Malibu. He's asking $200 obo, are they worth it? I offered to trade my smoothies for them, just waiting to see what he says? How much do you guys say they are worth/good offer (just in case he doesn't want to trade?)?Any input is appreciated, Thanks!

Re: What's a good price for these wheels/Hubcaps???
It's been a while since I checked prices but that seems like a lot to pay for the rims unless the tires come with it and have a good amount of tread left. Years ago I used to see them in the junk yards for $10 a rim and the last time I bought one for my truck I paid $20 for it.

If they dont need sandblasting I would think $100 is fair knowing the hubcaps will bring some money. But ultimately, how bad you want them is how much they are worth in all reality.

No don't think they need to be sandblasted, they look to be in good condition.

Then if you buy a junkyard set and sandblast and paint them...you will have to figure out how much you would have in them and go from there>

Re: What's a good price for these wheels/Hubcaps???
One thing to keep in mind. A lot of these rims get rusted and pitted internally due to moisture and in some cases adding fix-a-flat stuff. The only way to find out the condition is to have the tires removed and inspect them.
If he won't go down in price and you are determined to buy them I would tell him you will buy them after he removes the tires so you can inspect them. I got burnt on two rims and old tires I bough for my trailer some years ago. I didn't pay that much but I had to throw them away since they were so pitted they wouldn't hold the air. |

Re: What's a good price for these wheels/Hubcaps???
Ok the guy lowered his price on the wheels/caps. I'm going to meet up wth him later today.
Quick Question..... Are all Chevy 6 lug stock steel wheels the same size? I've once been told that there is different size 6 lug wheels for chevy, not sure if this is true or not? The owner of the wheels above ^^^ has those 6x5.5 15x7 wheels on his 1966 Pick-up. So will they fit my 1970 cst/10 (6 lug)? I just want to make sure they fit my truck before I go and buy these!

Those caps are the dog dish for 1968 cars and can get bring some cash to offset the cost. One of the repro houses gets like 300 for a set of those caps.

Re: What's a good price for these wheels/Hubcaps???
yeah I figuered i could re-up on some cash by selling the caps. I just want to make sure these 15" 6x5.5 lug will fit my 6 lug pattern on my '70 cst/10? Does anybody know if they are the same size lug pattern/size?

If both trucks are 6 lug, they should bolt right up.

Re: What's a good price for these wheels/Hubcaps???
I paid $10 for one last week - in a junk yard.
I had to pay $50 for one last year - a 16.5x9.75 Kelsey Hayes (worth the cost to me, rather than wasting more time looking).
