Re: Brake Booster

I have used ECI brake kits on a few of my builds and they are easy to install and stop great.

What is the purpose of the expansion coils?

Re: Brake Booster

They were on the lines so I left them. Probably not needed if things are not going to be moving and flexing but I know from previous use of the truck the frame will flex when I use it off road. I usually put a couple of loops in my oil pressure gauge lines too.

Re: Brake Booster

i know this thread hasn't had any comments for awhile but hopefully someone can help me with some questions. I have a 48 gmc truck and want to put the booster and mc under the cab. My question for the people who have done the mod. did you have problems with it hitting your crossmember and was there room for exaust on that side with the brakes in place. Thanks i want to buy the set up but just not sure what problems ill run into. P.S. are the kits sold on Ebay any good? thanks

Re: Brake Booster

I have the CPP under the floor kit in my 57. It uses the stock pedal and is easy to install. I am using the original three speed tranny so I don't have a crossmember at that location to work around.

Re: Brake Booster

thanks for the comment. I think I will just give it a shot. I like the idea of getting it away from the firewall. Maybe I can just run a tubular crossmember that ain't so bulky. still not sure on exaust though

Re: Brake Booster

As usual some things just DO NOT fit the way they were engineered !!

The M/C and booster and bracket kit came from E C I but the bracket had to be seperated because of clearence of the crossmember which involved making a pushrod.

this rod was fabricated to fit the need, so I guess you could say it is homemade!
