Pros and Cons of new intake
Just wondering what are the pro"s and cons on, getting rid of the rochester single barrel, stock intake and adding an aftermarket one, performance, MPGs, any real suggestions, i am keep my inline, just a daily cruiser, and suggestions

Do you have an integrated head? If so, you won't be able to do much.
If you have the other head with the removable intake /exhaust, you can do a few mods. Even using a new intake and a small carb (390 cfm seems to be the most popular), it won't help that much in mileage or horespower..... Some people have used what Stovebolt sells, a Holley/Weber progressive carb which works ok, but for the time and money you would spend, you really won't get much back.....

yes i have the removable intake and ehaust, I didnt know whether it would be worth the money to add it or not, but a appreciate the responses and the options shown, i will look more into and see what it comes down to.

I'm running an Offy with a 350 holley 2 barrel, an hei and langdon's headers.
One definite improvement is cold starting and running. I don't even need the choke to start it. It runs smooth all the time. No hesitation ever. Can't say that about running with the stock parts. |
