Got my Coys

Well the fronts that is lol. They are 18x8 4.5bs Flat Black with 245/45/18 Yokohama's. Still need to order the 20x10's for the rear but that will come in a couple of weeks, have to get my 5 lug axle conversion too. I have loved these rims since the first time i seen them on Big Als beautiful truck. Had some problems with the valve stems hitting my calipers on my McGaughys Big Brake Kit so I had to go with the screw in valve stems. I only had about 5/8 inch clearance around the calipers. The rims were mounted and unmounted twice, was a PITA but turned out ok in the end. Tire shop only charged me for one mount and balance. Sorry for the dark cell phone pics, will get more pictures the further along i get.

Re: Got my Coys

For the price, Coy's is one of the best wheels on the market. Great choice!

Re: Got my Coys

I kept looking at other wheels but always came back to wanting the Coys. They were more money then I wanted to spend but i figured why waste my money on something I don't want, might as well do it right the first time.

Re: Got my Coys

Finally got my rears. 20x10 5.5" backspacing, will be mounted on 295/40/20 Yokohama tires. I ordered 5" backspacing but apparently coys does not have any of these in stock and doesnt plan on having them in stock anytime soon. Of course with their great customer service when I placed my order they told me that the 5" bs was in stock so i proceded to place my order. Not only that but they tried charging me 3 seperate times in the same day for them. When i called them about it the guy told me that the invoice slip was on his desk with no receipt so he charged me again, crazy huh. Two weeks went by and i still didn't recieve my rims. So i called them and they told me that they don't have 5" bs in stock and don't know when they will have them in stock, they said it could be 3-4 months or even longer. Had I not called them I still wouldn't know this because they weren't calling me. So either I could have 5.5" bs or refund my money which wouldn't work since I already have the front rims mounted and balanced and if somehow they got damaged unmounting them then they wouldn't take them back. So after battling with them over the phone for two days I decided to go with the 5.5" bs and just deal with it. I have the 68 short rear so i might need to modify my inner wheel wells. Three weeks after I first placed my order I finally got my rear rims, atleast they refunded my shipping charge. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN, THEY HAVE NICE WHEELS BUT THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.

Re: Got my Coys

Sorry to hear about your trouble, I hate hearing about things like this, makes me not want to deal w/any wheel companies. It seems that they all have issues with customer service, ordering/billing problems or huge back order delays.... sad!

Anyway, the wheels do look great and you might be able to just use a space to make up for the "incorrect" back space? Just a thought...

Re: Got my Coys

Same issues i had with them. I understand supply chain problems but their smug attitude doesnt work well with me. This is my last set of Coys, i do not care how inexpensive they are. By the way, my problem was also with 5 inch backspace. When I used the wheels on a different truck and needed 5.5 backspace there was no problem with the supply chain side but they were still smug.

That was the problem I had with them they just seemed like they didn't care at all. One of the guys tried telling me that I don't need 5" bs and that I could just run spacers no big deal. I told him flat out that if I wanted to run spacers I would have bought the boss 338 wheels for half the price. He had nothing to say then. Yeah they told me they sell 3:1 5.5" bs to 5" bs so they don't really stock the 5" bs.

I used the 5 inch on a narrow 67 rear and they worked great. The truck they are on now has a wide 70 rear with 5.5 inch and they are great. I now have about 3/4 of an inch between the tire and inside fender well. It will be close for you on the rub issue but it will look much better with a 1/2 spacer. Just use longer studs with a spacer and you will never know the difference. Studs are easy to change. Visually you cant tell the difference between 5 and 5.5 but it does suck to not get what you know you need.

When you get those on and start fielding the compliments the customer "service" will quickly fade. Post pics when they're on.
