Electric exhaust cut outs........
I'm looking into a set of these.
I know some of the things to look out for are: 1) Better Design (water proof Motors/Casings). 2) Steel Gear sets. I'm looking into the following brand on e-bay: "BadlanzHPE Electric Exhaust Cutout Cutouts" http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Badla...Q5fAccessories Do any of you have these on your Triuck? I know its not an "essential" piece of equipment, but I thought that since I'm having my exhaust "Tucked" up into the Frame, I'd have a set of these installed. Any experiences, good or bad, video, pictures, Opinions , would be appreciated..

Re: Electric exhaust cut outs........
heres some im going to put on my c-10---We are happy to announced the New and Improved version of our popular all stainless steel electric exhaust cut-outs in 2 1/2” and 3” diameters. Our engineers at Doug’s have taken the famous electric exhaust cut-outs and dramatically decreased the size for more versatile installations while lowering the price as well.
These cut-outs feature a rugged gear reduction 12 volt DC motor and a rotating gate for a leak proof seal every time the cut-out is opened and closed. Unlike butterfly style cut-outs the Doug’s cut-outs don’t have the leaky gasket sound and when fully opened there is no exhaust flow obstructions. A pre-wired harness with an illuminated rocker switch is supplied for easy installation. Un-cork your exhaust with the flip of a switch from you dash. The cut –outs are ideal for race tracks that don’t require mufflers. These Doug’s cut-outs are available in singles or pairs and in complete kits with Y-Pipes for easy installation www.pertronix.com/prod/ex/dougs/components.aspx

Re: Electric exhaust cut outs........
WOW!
I liked these until I saw the price. Jegs has them listed for $650.00!!! I want Electric Cut-Outs, but not THAT bad. I think I'll stick with QTP or Badlanz. Your lookin at about $264.00 - $360.00 for a set of 2. No offense ffk... Besides I just heard a set of these in person at "The Shop" today. Its like uncorkin your headers with the touch of a button! Re: Electric exhaust cut outs........
I've got a set of Manual Cutouts on my Truck too.
Love em' but its a pain in the ass, to get underneath there (with 2 1'2" of clearance, and undo them.

Re: Electric exhaust cut outs........
I had a set of these :
http://www.dmhperformance.com/ on a previous project. Really high quality - had some delivery problems (small, private shop) and got dropped by the big mail-order guys. Take a look. You'll be impressed. |

Re: Electric exhaust cut outs........
OK guys. It looks like most of you at one point or another have used eaither:
QTP Brand Badlanz Brand DMH Brand I was leaning towards the Badlanz, because they also sell replacement motors/pWirring Parts ect, and have a 5 year Warranty. Since I already have a set of Jegs "Y-Pipes", I can just get the set of Cut-Outs for $270.00 and shipped free, insted of the $365.00 (includes Y-Pipes).. Thoughts?

Re: Electric exhaust cut outs........
The Shop that's doing my Exhaust is using "V-Band Clamps".
These things are Awesome, and no more worring about Gaskets! Its like a Pressure fit with grooves cut and made out of Stainles Steel.
