4 Link Rear Bolt On.

I've searched online and here but can't seem to find a bolt in 4 link that's not bagged. I'm looking for a kit to convert my 85 gmc stepside to a four link with coil overs. Any idea where I can look?

Re: 4 Link Rear Bolt On.

I haven't seen one. About the best you can do is take it to a chassis/racecar/fab shop that does good work and have them custom build one for your truck.

You can basically bolt any rear under these trucks, be it a 10, 12, or 14 bolt, as long as it's from 73-87. U joints may differ depending what rear is swapped under what truck.

Your going to have to run coilovers, or bags. Check with ou r forum vendors in the Suspension Marketplace. They will have what you need.

Here ya go. This will get you started. There are other options available. You may want to try the suspension section of the forum. Good luck. http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...mber=4BK87BC-B

There's no such things as a 454 rearend. The motor installed did not have a connection with the rear end option.

Re: 4 Link Rear Bolt On.

CPP has a bolt on system that will get rid of your leaf springs. Its a truck arm setup like the 67-72 c10s.

I'll do that. Searching only gave me bagged threads.

Better weight distribution than leaf springs, also less wheel spin I believe.

I'm gonna have to check that out. A 67-72 type suspension on a 85 would be pretty nice.

Re: 4 Link Rear Bolt On.

a lot of the bagged setups could easily be converted to coil overs, especially the air ride/ride tech ones...

Re: 4 Link Rear Bolt On.

Be aware, the 454SS rearend uses larger axle tubes than a stock 12-bolt, fitment with the trailing arm suspension may be iffy...

Re: 4 Link Rear Bolt On.

Being that you are running a rear end out of a 454SS ( 14bolt Semi Float), you will not find anything that will be a complete piece of cake type bolt on system. Our bolt on kit is a super nice piece but our Panhard bar bracket is designed for either a GM Corp 10Bolt or 12 Bolt. So if you used our kit you would have to used a weld on Panhard bar axle bracket, you would have to enlarge the axle clam shell axle brackets for the larger diameter axle tube and you would need to weld the coil over mounts on. Not really too bad of a deal but there will be a little work to it.
