Loose mirrors

If I take my truck onto the highway within about a minute the mirrors are blown up against the window. It is not very helpful to be able to see myself in my passenger mirror so is there anyway to tighten these up or do you just replace them. If replacing is the only option how do take them off. I didn't see anything holding them on from the inside of the door. Oh my truck is a 1977 by the way.

Re: Loose mirrors

If your mirrors are the "dumbo" type you can take the cover off by removing a screw at the bottom and tighten them up.

Re: Loose mirrors

its tricky to wiggle the outside chrome up
but keep the posts' rubber seal in place (on cover)it's hard to work back in if it's brittle
and you will see the bolt
