help please!!!!

Okay so im almost done with my frame when i ran into a ploblem. when my front bags are inflated they reach 100psi and the upper part of the spindle hits the upper control arm and prevents it from turning or going any higher. i ran into this problem once i bought the suicide doors bag mounts with the cups. i think the cups added extra hight causing thr contact. i dont want to remove them becuase with the bags fully deflated front and rear the truck sits level. any thoughts or help.

Re: help please!!!!

If your calipers are toward the front then they are on the wrong sides. The calipers are supposed to be to the rear side of the spindles. WES

Re: help please!!!!

the spindle is for 73-87 frucks and i used ball joints for a 1973..so if the taper is diff will this not allowe the ball joint to slide all the way in the spindle giving me a bigger gap between the control arm and spindle?

Re: help please!!!!

you got a good point so what i wil do first is cut 1 inch off the bags. then recheck if at 140psi when inflated the arm does not rub. i was running flat plates at the bottom and did not have this issue. the 1 inch removale will help and i can keep the same ball joints...i have read alot that the cups from suicide door are on the larger side and people do cut them.

I'm wondering if just putting the bumpers in would solve it??? would limit the travel and may be enough...

Re: help please!!!!

Thats what hottrucks said. I'll order some and put them in. I measured and there is about 1 1/2 each between the upper arm and the crossmember when inflated. I don't think the bumpstops are the big not sure tho

not to dog CPP because I get in trouble for it....but just fot giggles try the 67/70 ball joint...from the drum brakes....it has to be one or the other and since those don't fit...I would go with the other..OR ask for JEFF @ CPP he has done wonders for other board memebers... do not deal with other people there then ask him which ball joints....I would try the other ball joints first
