Anyone know if big block crossmembers are different from small blocks?

maybe the towers are diffrent some will chime in that has done the swap before

Anybody know if engine stands are different for 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive-went to install drive-shaft and is too long!

My truck was a small block and I changed it to a Big Block. The cross-member was not a problem-I used factory mounts. The floor tunnel was a "low" tunnel and was no problem. I did have to cut the drive shaft as it was too long. The truck came stock with a turbo 400 and I rebuilt and used it. I used gm factory engineered parts for everything to avoid any problems and it came out great. I have seen both big block cross-members and small block and know of no differences. Good Luck

I believe the transmission cross member is the same but, I'm not 100% sure. I would bet it has more to do with your motor mounts. What year is your truck and what year are your motor mounts?

It would help to know what motor and trans you are installing, also if it is a 2WD or 4WD truck. The x-members are the same for bbc/sbc in a 2WD truck. BBC never came in 4WD trucks, and the x-member is different in them I believe. Are you using big block mounts or small block mounts? Specifics are needed to determine what is going on.

I am installing a 366 which was in truck with hacked up small mount stands-350 turbo-2wd,am using bb stands and mounts-it seems i can move motor forward but there is no more holes on drivers side and headers will hit lower a-frame-i think the oil pan will clear-I am just trying to do it correctly!
