This 1970 Chevy Pickup Truck (turbo type)steering column is a rare find for the restorer who wants everything all original. This Automatic Transmission Steering column was very rare for that year it had to be special ordered from the factory since most of these trucks had the manual transmission shifter on the column.
Turbo Type??? I DIDN'T KNOW CHEVY MADE T-TYPE TRUCKS!! MAYBE ITS A BUICK TRUCK!! YEAH!! I WONDER IF HE IS SELLING HIS *GNX/10* EMBLEMS AS WELL!!! lol

also, the s&h is only $2...that sounds kinda fishy

yeah...some people find something old and think they hit the jackpot...if that auction was, for, say 2 auto tilt columns, then yeah, maybe. since he said

he apparently knows nothing about trucks, since it seems to me most of the trucks on here are autos. arghh

If you check out his other auctions, he's seling a 1968 truck, but it looks like a 71-72 front?

This beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Pickup Truck has been almost fully restored by me. It has new paint, 350 engine, power steering, tilt wheel and is a 5 lug. It still needs carpet. Tailgate not shown in picture but I have it already painted just need to put it on. This truck is my pride and joy I hate to sell it however do to unforseen medical reasons I have to sell (Must Go) If you purchase and are not in the local area you will need to make arrangements to pickup or we can explore an Auto Shipping Company at your costs.

68? Hmmm ...

Schyster-speak but it's all true except the "rare" part. The auto trannies were marketed as "turbo"hydromatics and an automatic was optional equipment (had to be special ordered).

It just sounds more appealing than "Stock truck auto tilt column for 67-72 truck". When "surfing" watch out for the sharks!

I hope he put the 71-72 front clip on a 68 or he just might be the dumbest person to ever restore a truck.

I think I'll put a complete "RARE" 69 GMC front DRUM brake setup
on there for a few thousand bucks, and see if some fool will bid on it.
After all, We all know that the front DRUM brakes were only available on the "SUPER RARE" special ordered, limited edition , custom hand built, rasberry red, Turbo Super Rally Sport Z29 NASCAR trucks that were equipped with the 532 cubic inch, 900 horsepower, turbo supercharged small block V12.
I'll even throw in a practically new behind the seat gas tank and FREE SHIPPING.
Maybe the same idiot who thinks his steering column is worth $300 will buy it.

hehehe we should compose a list of the "Reeely rare parts" for future reference...we already have:
"Turbo" column
behind seat gas tank- really rare DSO so your outboard tank wont get punched out by cornstalks when drivin thru the back 40
front drum brakes- weight savings over disc brakes! who needs efficiency?
back window glass- very rare, as most trucks were factory equipped with the "Flow-Thru" ventilation system
headlights- the newest craze!

and many more!

How does he keep shipping so low? Must be the rare and rarely used division of ups, fed ex, or usps. I think he may be licking stamps, but they are not from the post office.

I figured out about the truck he is selling. I emailed him and asked about the 5 lug wheels, and the front clip. It is a different clip, and the suspension has been changed. The numbers on the cab and frame match. He said it's his brothers truck, and he knows very little about it. That also explains how the turbo type column is so "rare" to him. He has no idea what he is talking about, he even told me that in an email!
quote:
"I certainly hope this answers your questions or maybe I can have him to call
you because I don't know what I am talking about. Thanks for your patience."

Good luck to them I guess. If someone buys it all, it's their problem for not asking the right questions.

i was just wanting to know ? were there only turbo type columns in the 67-72 trucks ,,or did they continue them because i have some apparently turbo type 73 and up columns,, if someone buys that column for 300 ,, some one send them an email and tell them i have the golden gate bridge at rock bottom prices,, this week only,, kinda like those extremely rare solar clothes dryers with custom wood fasteners ,, A ROPE AND CLOTHES PINS ,, HA HA HA
