Slam Specialties RE vs SS bags?

I want to bag the rear of my `63 C-10. When I bought the truck it had a nice stance but it had been done by torch heating the coils and the ride sucked. I rebuilt the front end with drop spindles and new coils.
For the rear I'm looking to use the 7" bags. I don't want to lay frame or hop the truck. It's a driver and I carry reasonable loads and tow sometimes. The plan is a simple system with air lines running to a convenient location with schrader valves for airing up.
I've read criticisms of the new SS series but they're a good year old and wondered if it was early production bugs that got worked out or what.

Re: Slam Specialties RE vs SS bags?

I had RE bags on my '69 and will be running SS bags on my 66. I haven't heard anything bad about them and a lot of guys on the suspension forum are running either the SS bags, or Dominators.

Can't help with your question, but felt compelled to say, Nice Truck. The body side stripe looks good. Kind of surprising, I wouldn't have thought it would look good but it does.

Thanks. The truck looks just the way I bought it and although it's a bit more street rod-ish than I like, the paint and stripes were done with some art and skill. The body work under it looks to have been done by a different hand or else quickly to flip it.

This was my intro yesterday:
