Come on guys! I need to know tonight! Truck drive perfectly fine but the light is on which scares me because that usually means something is horribly wrong because the computer is so brain-dead!

You have a check-engine light?!? That's pretty high-tech dude. I gotta check my engine manually!
Seriously, I don't know...sorry.

I got the trouble code: 34 - A firebird site says it is the MAP or MAF sensor. WTF??? I don't have a MAP sensor or a MAF sensor! This thing is like a "Something is wrong" light. The trouble code really didn't help. Grrrr.....

I have been messing with it and sometimes before I start it I get a loud fast continuous clicking (usually I get a soft slow clicking) It sounds like a normal noise that happens at about 1/4 throttle but now before I start it. It has a slower than normal idle but only barely. Since it is black outside (11pm) I can't really see anything.

Here is the sensor outlined in red:

What the hell is that sensor? A MAP sensor? I ran my hand down the vaccuum line and it is cut. Is that my problem?

yes. repair or replace the vacuum line and the problem should go away. BTW, the MAP really does not have a lot of effect on the way your truck will drive, so it is not something to really worry about. The light is more of a nuisance on a carbed vehicle anyhow. The reason it is on is because the sensor is not getting a vacuum signal without the line attached. Make sure the plug is in tight, put vacuum to it, and it will be fine.

That night it was dark and I was tired and hot. I looked at it today and found that the line was just un-plugged! Problem solved! I did however find out they don't make that hard plastic emissions vaccuum tubing anymore. Not the Chevy dealer, Kragen, or Autozone has it. Kragen used to 6 months ago. Maybe I get one of those special emissions exempt things because my hoses are all split? (I don't know HOW that would happen...)

Subs are great! I have to fine tune the amp though, it can get a little boomy at times. I have the crossover set too high. I love it. Can't really hear them outside the cab which is a good thing because if you cruise around town with subs and let everyone know, they will be gone the next day!
