Buckets to Bench Seat
I have a 72 GMC, long bed, 1/2 ton 2wd truck. When i purchased the truck the guy i purchased it from put some 66' Impala buckets in there ( real lowrider seats). The guy i bought my new hood/grille/bumper from wants to trade me the buckets for his original bench seat.
Does anyone know if will be able to bolt the bench seat right up? do you know if the hole positions are the same for both seats by any chance. His bench is coming out of a 69 or 70 GMC step side. He lives quite far away, and my truck is non op right now, so it is a bit hard to compare. thank you in advance for any help. |

Re: Buckets to Bench Seat
Hello, I would have to say ( yes it'll bolt rite in ). I took out a bench and installed buddy-buckets, same bolt pattern.

Re: Buckets to Bench Seat
The buckets are worth a lot more than a truck bench. Very hard to find those buckets today, and bench seats out of our trucks are still a dime a dozen.
If you were up here I would trade you three bench seats for those buckets =)

Re: Buckets to Bench Seat
The 66' impala buckets are really worth more? they dont seem that nice to me, but i just dont think they are comfortable. what do you believe a pair in good condition to be worth?
Where is up here? haha |

Re: Buckets to Bench Seat
The seats you have pictured in post #4 are not 66 impala buckets, 66 impala buckets had metal lower aprons and full metal backs. Mel

Re: Buckets to Bench Seat
My guess is those are corvair or chevelle seats as the impala seats fold to the side. I would definitely sell those and then buy a bench if that's what you would rather have as the buckets are probably in the 400 to 500 range if in great shape and a nice bench can be had for 150 to 250. IMO
