Re: 6.2 Diesel guys need your help

So is it suppose to click on? The trouble were having is getting it to turn over (the motor). We hear the pop sound in the solenoid but it remains dead, lights go on - no diming, everything seems to be fine battery wise, its acting like there is no power to the starter, guess it could be the solenoid on the starter.

The solenoid is on the fender.

Need a lot of amps to start a diesel, could be a bad starter drawing too much juice or bad batteries or a short, gotta cuss those electrical gremlins

Re: 6.2 Diesel guys need your help

How much battery do you have? How many total CCA(cold cranking amps)? And how old are they?

Re: 6.2 Diesel guys need your help

Not sure of the age of the batteries, trying to get both tested. They were all working fine until it just quit. So were having the starter checked, then the batteries.
