oh my brake problems.......
well today i was going to bleed my brakes for the first time... took the prop valve off bleed the air out of the master cylinder... after that i started with the back brakes ot those done moved to the front and its leaking in between the brass block and the caliper... what do i do?
heres the statistics: new: calipers pads all the hard lines rear wheels cylinders brake shoes old: drums rotors and the fronts and rear rubber hoses, all of these items are perfect nothing wrong no need for replace. for those that are having a hard time figuring out what i am talkin about heres a diagram: |

Re: oh my brake problems.......
first i would take it off and make sure both sides of the block are cleaned from any dirt or anything that can cause it to leak. and also make sure nothing is plugging it up. also to make sure you have the washer that belongs on the bolt and make sure its tight thats all i can think of.

Re: oh my brake problems.......
Also double check that there's only one of those washers per side. They will often stick to the hose side and people will not notice it is there and install another one.
If this checks out OK, and the above recomendations fail, then replace the washers. |

Re: oh my brake problems.......
those washers on the banjo bolt fittings sshould b replaced with new ones// they are crush washers and many times leak when reused
they are cheap and can b found in the "help" section of the autoparts stores

And yup!
If everything is new and clean, there are no imperfections and you are torquing them down correctly, then that's the only thing left. |

Re: oh my brake problems.......
well i found the problem... the new claipers have a raised wall, then it dips in for the hole instead of being flat, the new brake hoses are a circular end instead of a square so... it cant get on the hole to seal.. i have a quick fix ( i know quick fix doesnt sound good because im working with brakes but it wont defect it can only help..)

Re: oh my brake problems.......
thats good to hear its not something that can not be fixed. did you purchase this all as a set brand new? if so I would contact the people you purchased it from and they should replace the hose to match the set.

Re: oh my brake problems.......
no the hoses came off my frame when i got it but my frame wasnt used for 12 years or so and before that the guy who had it i believe it got in a frontend crash and they bent the front frame horns and the first crossmember, but they straightened it and bolted in a new crossmember and redid the shocks and all the brakes and ball joints... the ball joints where bad because we sand blasted the frame... the chocks are still good still have them and the brakeshoses are perfect! so they were are the ones made like GM made and now they have this new S#!tty style that sucks... so cant return the brakes hoses
