Aftermarket inner fender feedback

I’ve been watching for some time for a set of decent original inner fenders, needless to say everything I looked at was worse than what I had. I gave up on a used set and purchased a new set (made in Taiwan) from LMC while in KC this weekend. I did a trial fit this afternoon and I was surprised that the fit was as good as it was, all of the holes lined up. The left side does seem to have more space between the frame and the edge of the fender, haven't measured yet to see how it compares to original. I don’t know what the gauge thickness is, they are less than the original but for $39 per side can’t complain.

Im not one to really care where something comes from, and I don't think there is a square body in existence worth preserving in numbers matching condition. So I say right on, those look really good. and you can use the cash you saved on something else now!

Re: Aftermarket inner fender feedback

I was surprised how well the cheap LMC inner fender fit as well. On the other hand, I wasn’t surprise as to how flimsy they were. I ended up having them Rhino lined on both sides, which actually gave them a lot more strength.

I agree on the american made, I make my living in mfg and try to buy U.S. product when possible. I don't know of any inner fenders that are made state side. I called several places and the feedback I received was "imported". The plus for buying in KC was I didn't have to pay freight, the freight fee is almost as much as the fenders.

Taking them to get powder coated later this week. Hopefully I don't scratch them putting them back in.
