Should the clutch mechanism on a 4 speed look like this?

I have a question regarding the clutch mechanism which connects to a 4 speed tranny on an 82 inline 6 engine. Should the rod (circled in yellow) run parallel to the bar located to the right of the red line and not at an angle as displayed in the picture? For some reason it seems like the mechanism is kinked. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

That doesnt look right to me.
I will check mine at lunch and post again.
It almost looked like your fork is too far towards the engine.

It looks normal to me, it won't be perfectly parallel. What makes you question it?

Well the point that connects from the fork to the clutch pedal assembly (located under the red line) looks like it is not connecting correctly as it might cause unneeded stress. It appears like Phoenix said the fork is either too far towards the tranny side or the clutch mechanism rod needs to move over towards the tranny side. But the part of the rod that connects to the clutch pedal seems fine.

My z-bar seems to be closer to the bell housing then yours.
The adjustable bar is at a slight angle, but not as much as yours, thats because my z-bar is over further. The clutch fork does look about right though, mine looked further forward then I thought it was. I remember last time I change my clutch I played around with the z-bar. I was able to slide it around and get it to stay where I thought it was best. No linkage problems so far.

Do you have any spacers in your z bar which moves the bar closer to the bell housing? Mines have a couple but I don't think the bar can move any closer to the bell housing since the clutch pedal that is attached to the z bar is already pretty tight. Only other thought is that the clutch fork is the wrong one maybe? Do they make different lengths?
