15" Aluminum Slots
Does anyone of any companies making these today or where i could get a couple? I picked up 2 off EBAY and am looking for two more. Don't care what brand. I see American Racing does have what they call "Ansen Sprint" which is very similar but it appears they're only offered in 5 lug and i need 6. Several others like Indy used to make em, but can't find any current manufacturers.

Re: 15" Aluminum Slots
I picked up a set of 4 two years ago for $50.00 and a lot of elbow grease later they looked quite different from when I bought them. I am looking for a pair of 10" for the rear, I'll keep you in mind if I score them and sell you two of mine.

Re: 15" Aluminum Slots
It appears American Racing does make the Ansen Sprint in 6x5.5 bolt circle:

I've run them on a few of my trucks before. It's a great way to get some cheap 6 lug slot mags. Funny thing is I typed in "Jeep slot mags" into Google to find a picture for you and my old Suburban popped up as the 4th picture on Google.

Factory rally wheels are steel and typically use a conical lug that pushes against the conical machined hole in the wheel hub. Post up a close up photo of the hole in your aluminum wheel. Last edited by lakeroadster; 06-20-2011 at 01:37 PM. |

Re: 15" Aluminum Slots
Agreed. But feel obligated to mention there are exceptions to that rule. I had a set of Cragar Mach 8 aluminum slots (8 holes instead of 5). They were uni-lug but had an aluminum die cast adapter ring that slipped into a machined boss in the back of the rim that was used to change the bolt pattern. It fit real snug and worked great. Never had any problems keeping the wheel/tire combo's in balance, and was running L-60-15's.

Re: 15" Aluminum Slots
Luckily, until the introduction of the Dodge Dakota & GMC Envoy/Chevy Trailblazer's all 6 lugs were 5.5" circles so no need to drill the wheels for other patterns.
As such, the slots mags should take a simple shank style mag lug nut with washer. Make sure the lug nut is not so long that it sticks out past the wheel or it will bottom out on the hub and not properly tighten the wheel down (that can be bad trust me). Also the washers go on the lug nuts a specific way (flat side towards wheel). Last edited by blackedoutharley; 06-23-2011 at 11:00 AM. |
