How hard to swap 72 blazer body for 1987 body
I have a great 1972 Blazer body, but running gear is bad. Found a nice deal on an 1987 blazer with all upgraded running gear.
So i know i could just swap out the axels but with the TBI engine and other "upgrades" how hard would it be to swap out my body for the 87's? I know the wheel base and length are different: Wheel base: 72 -- 106 87 -- 014 Length 72 -- 177.5 87 -- 184.8 Thanks |

Honestly I think it would be easier to swap the '87 drivetrain into your '72 than swap bodies. Drivetrain swap might require you drill holes to move some crossmembers - swapping bodies will require a ton of fab on the frame for the body mounts, wheel base and body length differences.

I agree. I know it's been done. Someone did a 67-72 truck on a newer chassis and even kept the dash and creature comforts and made it all fit somehow, but I think it would be an incredible amount of work.
