How hard to remove the bed?
How do you remove the bed of the truck? I'd like to get to the frame with the box removed and also por-15 the underside of the box.

Re: How hard to remove the bed?
Theres a plug in back by the bumper through a hole on the frame on the driver side....unplug that......take out your bolts on the bed and lift it off.

Re: How hard to remove the bed?
Four bolts. The plug he is referring to is for the taillights. There should be a grounding strap as well, maybe a couple. Two guys can do it, four is much better. Taking the tires off and lowering the rearend as low as the jack will go makes it a bit easier too.

Re: How hard to remove the bed?
yes, where you rear light harness plugs into and about 8 bolts holding it to the frame not hard at all.

Re: How hard to remove the bed?
I use 2 2x4s nailed together and cut to just fit under the lip at about center of bed. Put 2 Eye bolts, one at each end and attach a chain, use an engine hoist and you can lift it off the frame and drive truck out from under it. Just make sure you got it balanced before lifting too high. Good luck. Jim. Set it on 4 jack stands to get it off the ground.

Re: How hard to remove the bed?
easy to do as listed above // one man and an engine crane and aan ability to balance something is easier than trying to coordinate 4 drunk guys with 7left feet
somewhat easier to do with tailgate removed

Re: How hard to remove the bed?
Yeh, with my engine hoist I had to remove bumper and tailgate, it wouldn't reach fully extended to a balance point without doing that. Also, this way by yourself isn't as much fun as with 4 drunk guys with seven left feet, but there will be fewer dents and dings.
