Re: Wheel set up for drum brakes
When I went looking to replace the stock steel wheels on mine I was told these late model wheels will not fit - the backspacing is nowhere near what we need.
I cant say for 100% as I didn't actually try and bolt them on but three places of five in my area told me the same thing. |

And the centre bore is usually smaller.

Re: Wheel set up for drum brakes
if you get the narrow wheels and tires, the back space might be doable. They'd look funny being tucked in the wheel wells too far, but you might get lock to lock on the steering, and you might clear the tubs in the back.
However, the center pilot hole where the hub goes, is way too small on late model stuff. |

Thanks for the info. Now would that be the same case for aftermarket wheels on that same late model chevy.like Boyd or billet specialties, etc.

Re: Wheel set up for drum brakes
i would measure the hub on your old wheels, and check. I hesitate to say all the aftermarket wheels have the small hole, and some of the wheels for 4X4 trucks may have the b/s you need.

Re: Wheel set up for drum brakes
the tires on my truck are 17" from an '05 Tahoe, the centers are too small, that is correct but I put 1 1/2" block spacers on all the rims, that brought them out and they fit well, do not rub anywhere, best of luck
