Wiring electric fans
How do you wire up an electric fan setup? I will be going junkyard searching for a dual fan setup and was wondering how I will wire the thing up. Anyone have a clue?

Too bad the search is disabled. Lots of info here.
I used a relay from a GM car(AC relay I think) weatherproof connectors, nice relay. I run two fans, one from a car and one from DAPS. I also ran a switch to disable the fan if I go through deep water. Get as much of the harness as you can. Might find one with a relay in it already. Anymore questions, just shoot.

A toggle switch for back up is a must. Too many newer cars blow head gaskets becouse something goes wrong and the fans won't work. Normally either lack of power, or a bad thermo switch.

Different fans flow different CFMs. It would depend on what fans you buy. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Where can I get the thermostat that hooks up to the wiring? I saw in the new classic trucks magazine they use an adjustable one.

I bought an adjustable one for mine at Checker. I think it cost me about $20-25.

If you want, you can buy a complete harness for two fans from beCool. It includes two relays and two seperate thermistor switches at two different temps...it's water proof too...
