if you really want to get the best money out of it. i would pull the engine and stuff a $150 305ci. in it and sell the truck for around $5000 range. then i would sell the nice engine that is in it for $2000 or so range. then sell all of your misc. stuff for extra $$$. this is the way i have to sell most of the things i sell for various reasons. not very many people have 8 or 10k to buy a truck like yours, and it`s hard to get a loan for an old vehicle.

Roger, you are absolutely correct. Any vehicle is only worth what one person is willing to pay. And how will you know if someone will pay what you feel it is worth if you don't try? Sounds like some paint and brakes would make this a $15K truck pretty quick. Best of luck getting it sold and I hope your fortunes turn around soon!

I'm sorry but that truck is not worth $11,000. I think $6000-$9000 is more accurate. Remember it has 4-wheel manual drum brakes and is in primer. You simply can't get what you put into these trucks out of them.....i've proably got $6000 in my truck and it might be worth $2000.
If the truck had a nice paint job, and decent brakes i could see paying $11,000 for it. But you can buy a lot nice of a truck for that price. I see you say its a starting point....if you want to sell the truck you will have to come down on that quite a bit. If you want to sell it fast, i'd start at $9000 and go from there.

It all depends on how fast you "have to" sell the truck. If you're not in a hurry your chances of finding the right few people who a) have that kind of liquid cash and b) are looking for an unfinished truck. Every vehicle I've sold has been in similar condition as yours, very nice mechanicals but needing paint and some minor finishing, and all of them were in a similar price range. I think it actually is "better" for the buyer (for several reasons) if the vehicle ISN'T painted yet. It's harder to hide shoddy rust repair or bondo and they (the buyer) get to choose the color they really want. What's my point? There are potential buyers for your truck, albeit small. Your task is to get maximum exposure (internet mainly) and hope one of the people in that small market sees it. Again, it all goes back to how much time you've got. JMHO. I wish you well. Nice truck.

Rick,
I'm selling the 67 to purchase another vehicle. Something that has AC for the HOT Summers here. Also I have a shot at a "potential" job but may have to commute about 65-75 miles a day round-trip. My 67 would get me there fast but not fuel efficiently. I'm definitely not trying to piss anyone off, here on the list. I started pouring money into this truck about 2 years ago with the intention, that it was gonna be a "keeper" but as you said Family IS important. The vehicle I'd like to purchase is not local. On top of the asking price, for the vehicle I want, I'll be looking at another $1000.00 for shipping. Now I know that's not anyone's problem but my own, but still a fact I have to consider. I have already lowered the price $3K since I originally put it up for sale. I'm now asking $9999.00 OBO. Roger |

Looks like my Truck has been sold and will be on its way over the ocean to SWEDEN!
Its Ironic that alot of people in the US, had a hard time commiting to the purchase of this Truck. This guy calls me from Sweden on Friday afternoon and tells me he wants my Truck. I told himI had 2 interested parties coming to look at it this weekend and I couldn't just hold it for him without a deposit. 90 minutes later, I've got a $1500.00 deposit in my Savings account and the remainder to be wired into the account this morning. Thats not a problem Duece.
They already sent me a deposit using Paypal. I'll be taking that and sending it to the Truck I'm buying. As soon as the rest arrives, its being wired into a 3rd party escrow. |

Re: 67 CHEVY FLEETSIDE SHORTBED FOR SALE-(soon)
Interesting here I sit 6 years later, up at 3AM reading this old post,
and I'm still here! Got a lot of Great advice, and got chewed out by Mods 3X over those past 6 years. The 67 was a Tough Sell. Kind of like loosing a Spouse in a Marriage, and vowing to never get Married again. My 67 C-10, sold for $8900.00 to that guy in Sweden. The Money was wired and he said it was for "Himself". It was shipped in a Cargo Container with other peoples krap, piled in and all around it. Found out later that it was for a "Client" of his, (not him as he had indicated in the sale). Last I heard, the guy was thrashing it, had engine problems and nobody to fix it. So it only took me 4 years after the sale of this Truck, to get hold of a 2nd incarnation of "RATIKLE" in April 2009. You can see it here at: http://home.pon.net/wwotr/my%201990%...0Super%20Coupe Even though this Truck only has 185 HP stock Motor, I've had MORE fun with it, than I ever did my 67. Everything comes so much harder for THIS Truck ($$ Wise), and I appreciate it a heck of a lot more. Just up late and Rambling. Just wanted to say "THANKS"! Roger (WWOTR) "RATIKLE"

Re: 67 CHEVY FLEETSIDE SHORTBED FOR SALE-(soon)
Addendum:
I sold my 67 C-10 and here's a pic of it being loaded onto the Transport, to take it to Long Beach and shipped overseas. I had started a new job a week earlier. Sold my 67, and put a $1K Deposit down on a 1996 Dodge Indy Ram, (had one before). I was in Nor Cal and it was in LA. So the Wife and I, drove 2 hours to the Airport (left at 4am), and hopped on a jet. Got to LA and Test Drove the Truck, and drove it back 500 miles, to the Sacto Airport (she picked up her car) and then the 2 hour drive home. Got Home at 11pm that night. The Truck drove "Funny" all the way Home. Could barely keep it on the road, (rained all t of that 500 Miles too). Took the Indy Ram to the shop, and the Pitman Arm was so worn that the Service Manager wouldn't let his Techs Test Drive it until it WAS changed. He said it was a miracle, we didn't loose total control of the steering! Spent about another $1100.00 on that and some misc other items. Got it back for 2 weeks and then the Tranny Blew out. I ended up paying $7K for the Indy Ram and putting another $1100.00 into it. Sold it to a guy and let him know what the Tranny issue was. I guess he had it fixed (new Tranny $2K), and then a Month later, it had major Wiring issues. He cut his losses and sold it. Hind Sight is 20/20 Vision. I should have kept my 67 C-10. Ended up NOT filing for Bankruptcy, and were able to come to $$ agreements with all our Creditors. Funny how things work out. But I still LOVE my 72 GMC!!!!!!!
