i want a smaller steering wheel on my 81 4x4....what other vehicles steering wheel would fit???and work??? i have heard that the caviler wheels work great....any pics would be great too.

you can use 88-98 wheels as well, but not sure how much smaller it would be, or you could just lay down $50 and get a GT Grant.

well i don't have tilt and the wheel is close to 15" across, so i'm looking 14-14 1/2" due to my 6'2" 240lbs frame...it can be a tight fit

I would go with the 88-95 wheels! They only went through 95 because of air bags.

I had one on my last truck and was happy with it. Plus, it's an easy install with no adapaters. You can usually find some on eBay for a decent price. Alot less then you could find a Grant for.

Caliver wheels will work, and I have one that is in nice shape and black. I would let it go for $35 + shipping.

I've used the sport steering wheel that GM put on a lot of stuff from the 70's and 80's. I've seen them on Camaros, Vegas, Malibu, Cutlass, and the late 80's small cars. The only problemwas getting the rihgt combination of sutff to make the horn work. I've seen those wheels at swap meets for $20-30.

Actually it was 88-94.

In 95 they changed the interior completely and started the air bags then.

i thought that the 88+ wheels were the same size as the 73-87 wheels??? i want to go smaller... to a wheel 14-14.5" diameter. could someone measure their 88-94 wheel and let me know the size. i like the cavi wheel but you price is going to be too much for me...thanks for the offer

The 88+ wheels are smaller and have a thicker grip (which is nice). However, I don't know the exact measurement. Here's the wheel I just bought.

I've got a grant wheel in my 69, and in the K5 blazer I'm using a wheel from a early 90s S10 Blazer Sport that I pulled from a local junkyard.

well i pulled one off a 91 Z24 ( the style pictured above )...i got it for $10 (canadian ) at the local junkyard.. it should look pretty sweet on the GMC
