Re: anyone have 1958 apache fleet side production numbers ?
I have never seen the numbers but saw somewhere the short fleetside was the lowest production and most I have seen and small back windows and basic for fleet service. Yours with the big window and chrome is probably a pretty rare one. There was a fleet option that only had one headlight, different bumper, no chrome trim and a extruded metal grille which is probably the rarest, I have only seen on in person and thought it was a poor modification by the owner.

Re: anyone have 1958 apache fleet side production numbers ?
Ya thats kind of what i thought......I have never seen another Apache short box fleet side big window before...I am a 1964 to 66 guy and production numbers for back windows in those years is low and the records are not good at all. I saw numbers for cameo's but not for apache's but it wouldn't suprise me if it was less then 5000...

Re: anyone have 1958 apache fleet side production numbers ?
I have seen them somewhere on the net. maybe stovebolt? Being that the fleetside bed came out mid year 58 i would think your right about the low numbers. The 58 cameo ran the first half of 58 and had the lowest numbers of the cameo run. I would think the same would be true for fleetsides. Sounds like a really nice truck. Put up some pics if you have some.

Re: anyone have 1958 apache fleet side production numbers ?
Here are a couple of pictures of it on my trailer......It was in a warehouse for years before i got it. It has all the orginal floors in it and i don't think anything has been patched on the entire truck. The frame has been blasted and painted and the cab has been undercoated. It's certainly not perfect but it would make a great truck to build or start with. But i sure would like to know how many were made before i decided what to do with it.....

Re: anyone have 1958 apache fleet side production numbers ?
That is very nice. I think the short fleets are the best, but im biased since i own one. If you build it youll have one unique truck. Go to any show and youll see 55-57's in abundance and some 58-59 stepsides, and cameos but not many unmolested short fleets. Im sure you could do ok selling it but it would be hard to find something comprable. I should sell mine and move on since i dont have the time to get it done, but im too attached to it

Re: anyone have 1958 apache fleet side production numbers ?
Well i know they only made 3124 CAMEO's....and they only made the steel fleetsides for 6 months in 58.....and with this one being a Apache a v8 truck and having the big back window....i wonder if they even made 1000 of them ?...Guess we will never know....
