Dual plane for a high-performance or stock street motor, single plane for a street/strip or racing engine.

on a 450+ cube street eng, I dont think the single plane intake will hurt the bottom end.....maybe rough on milage tho. I ran a Torker on a 455 olds( in my pickup), & it worked pretty well.....if there was any low end power lost, i sure didnt miss it!

The dual plane intakes tend to give better low end tork, which is what you need for a heavy hauler. sb powered trucks should have a dual plane for sure, but if the BB is a "toy"(not driven daily) I would look at the single plane intake. Its real hard to "kill" the low end tork in a large cube engine. My BB Olds ran a mild Engle cam (shaved heads, headers, torker & 800 dp). The elect kick down Had to be unhooked, cause the truck would do nothing but roast tiers & get squirrley when it shifted fron 3 to 1 @ 35 mph.....it was rough on gas too! crazyL
