I measured the core support location between the 2 frames,the one on the 69 appears to be back right around 1 1/2" from the newer frame,of course its mounted to the top of the front spring perch to help support it,more rivets!
Has anybody used a newer rear axle out of a chevy 2500hd truck under one of these?I know they have c-clip style axles in them but they come with big ol disc brakes on back already.
I helped a friend swap out his shelled out 2001 1/2t rearend to a 2500 hd rearend which was pretty simple other than a u-joint swap in his case.
The yard we bought his from has 2-3 2500hd's sitting out there there with posi rearends for $350 including rotors/calipers ,just kicking the idea around to see if its any cheaper than doing a disc brake swap on a 14 bolt rearend .
