I looked but didn't buy :(

HI, I'm dne' and I'm in the '59 section, but this truck I did venture to look at a few months ago; about an hour or so drive from Houston, but when I got there, omg~ it had been sandblasted and it had pinholes, and holes everywhere in the body(probably kind of common), but the photo looks much better than in person(as always!)~ it was just way over my head!! Just wanted to have something else to say other than my present truck! However, I could see it being a really neat ride!! What a Blast to the Past!! ; )

Re: I looked but didn't buy :(

saw that truck on craigslist a few times. he puts it up and takes it down alot! really neat truck. theres actually another guy that has one here in the houston area he lives out off lake houston. theres a couple sittin around in fields around here. prob is that either they want brain damage for em and theyre in really bad shape or its "naw i dont wanna sell that one. im gonna do something with it one of these days."

Re: I looked but didn't buy :(

Seems like it was 3500.oo, but not sure. He also had another truck similar in the back pasture, a flatbed, more like a 3/4 or 1 ton. Again, going by the photo, it doesn't look too bad, but in person~ eeyaah! I may have seen this truck on the "Real McCoys" TV series! lol My husband would have shot me if I had bought it~ it'd have been horribly expensive (IMO) and enough rusted bolts to keep WD-40 in business for quite some time! lol I think I was more amazed at how thin the metal was and when he had is sanblasted~ the metal was just ate away all over. I'm sure someone could turi it into a daily driver or a show truck, but I'm happy with what I have ; )

Well, you've got an outline there to what the truck should look like. I always wondered how hard it is to restore those grills.

It would be neat to have. But,they definitely take a whole lot of ambition. I'd love to have an old 8-lugger like that just good enough to drive.
