Found a truck and suburban near West Yellowstone

Heres a pair of truck I found while on vacation a few weeks ago. I know everyone likes looking at old trucks! the burb is a 1/2 ton 4x4 and the truck is a 3/4 ton 2wd.

Cool! Man,talk about leaving a big impression. I'm surprised that windshield didn't break. I think the hoods are from people jumping on them.

I believe that '68 is Saddle color...not a Gold 50th. I could be wrong. I can't tell if the seat is white and gold or fawn.

Re: Found a truck and suburban near West Yellowstone

Was it around Island park area 72 GMC Longstep?
About 7 years ago while vacationing at a lake close to Island Park near West Yellowstone,,I think I seen it driving around .. Not kidding ,,I seen either this one or one like it while viewing the Bears that are fenced in/ in West Yellowstone ..I take notice of all our trucks of 67-72 everywhere I go like most all of us ..

If it was the one I seen ,then it was in much better shape with no big jumping up and down dents like Tim is probably right about .

Note sure where island park is, but these are located at a campground about 6 miles west of West Yellowstone. They are hidden behind a building. Me and the kids were riding our bikes around the campground and found them.

It looked like to me someone jumped on the hoods, but the cab on the C20 looks like something fell on it. The burb was the best one in my opinion being a 4x4 w a 4sp. I am guessing they belong to the owner of the campground. I didn't talk to him because I am trying not to buy anymore project vehicles....I have enough to last a lifetime now.

I posted this for two reasons 1) I know people like looking at old vehicles and 2) maybe someone could go and rescue them.

I'll bet the owner has kids. I caught one of mine trying to use the top of my 66 GMC as a trampoline.

First of all I want to thank you for the photos and like you said maybe some one will go salvage them by you bringing it to the forum..

As for Island Park ,it is south west of West Yellowstone about 28 miles on Highway 20.. ( Island Park just hapens to have the longest Street in the World ,according to them.. 33 miles long ),, I believe it has one gas station and thats about all..LOL

The hood on my 50th has a big old hit right in the step, about middle of the length of the hood too, via BIG tree branch...

Even though these could be dented from kids, I'm leaning towards very heavy Yellowstone snow drifts. I've seen it happen many times. Sharpie

Never thought of that, the dents do kinda match. They are in an spot that would drift in. Or maybe ice chunks sliding off the roof of the building they are parked beside. It was a tin roof on the building.
