86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

This is 1986 crew cab truck that I bought in Arizona and sent it to Porterbuilt's for a full fame build. The plans are to build a full round tube frame that will have a c-4 corvette rear end and Nate's front end. The truck will lay the rockers on 26" MHT 3 piece wheels with 275/25/26 tires. The truck will have accuair for the air ride. The front end will be converted to a 73 round eye with all NOS parts that I picked up from a good friend. I have the brakes on order from Baer and they are going to be their Extreme-Plus with 16" rotors and their 6r calipers. I'm trying to work a deal now to put a twin turbo small block Chevy in it with a 6 speed.

Here are the NOS parts I scored from my good friend Big Bobby. These are all the parts I need to do the "73 round eye" conversion.

Who drew that picture of your truck? I want one of those. I can see my finished project in my head, but my hand could never translate it.

Great project. Good luck sir.

The rendering was done by Daniel Reyna from Huston TX. The rendering came out way better then I thought.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

Snoopy, very cool build. I'll be keeping up with this build because I'm right behind you. I've been talking with Nate for the last couple years on building the suspension on my 87 silverado shorty. We've already taken care of some of the financial part of the build, we just haven't got a delivery date set cause I'm always on the road (work). Hopefully soon i can deliver it and start the process.

Very cool crew and the final result looks killer!

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

Here is the motor that I'm trying to work a deal on. It's a Nelson Race Engine's 427 sbc twin turbo that makes 1600hp @ 32psi. The dyno sheet shows the power with only 20psi, 1055-hp and 1085-lbft.

That'd be a sweet set up in your truck for sure. But, could you ever get it to the ground?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
