Help me decide please!
OK here it goes---First off i sold the 69 so i will be needing a new name soon....lol.I have bought a 72 2x4 custom lwb with a 350 sbc that is on it's last ride,A 67 shortfleet no motor,And am going to look at a super K20 tomorrow that has no motor either. Now what i have is the 350 out of the 72,400 sbc (2 bolt) was running when we changed it but the rod was starting to knock,And a 84 350 crossfire out of a 84 vette that would need a rebuild. Now what i need help with is i have about $1200 to spend on fixing one of the engines now, which one would you suggest?Or would you recommend buying a new 350 with the warranty?I am thinking the crossfire in the 67 (because i have the whole vette and was thinking about putting everything i can off of it into the truck),rebuild the 350 for the 2x4 and the 400 in the 4x4.The 2x4 would be a daily driver, and i would like the 4x4 to use for towing.Any advice would be nice and i will try to get pics when i can,and be thinking on a new name for me......lol.Thanx guys and gals!!

I have a friend who bought a yellow 69 stepside. You can still see some purple inside the fender tips when you raise the hood. Louvers on the tailgate, rollpans front and back. That wasn't yours was it?

well it sounds like you want to get two motors, so with 1200.00 you will have to do a mcgiver here, if your going to tow with that 400 it will have to be pretty sound, so with 1200.00 you can't rebuild both, is there any way you can just fix whats wrong with the two motors or are they too far gone, you might have to do one now and one down the road a bit, you could probably by the rebuild kits for both with the money, but you'd need a buddy mechanic to rebuild them, is there any parts you can sell from any of this stuff, how about the corvette after you pull the motor, we have to figure out how too get enough scratch to do the two motors, or you might just have to build one nice truck, and use it for both, in that case I'd do the 400 in the 4x4

yeh I think if you shop around, there might be someone in your town that does this kind of thing at home, might save you some money, maybe some board memebers in your area can help track someone down for you, HINT HINT boys, we got to get Purpleslammed69 on the road again, keep us posted
