PROJECT HIGH OCTANE 71 c-10

Not sure if I'm doing this right or not but here we go. Bought this truck almost a year ago for around 1500 bucks, it had a brand new crate 350 and a worn out 700r4. I thought it was a short bed when I drove the 8 hour round trip ( SHOULD HAVE ASKED ). I was a little disappointed when I got there to see a longbed but the truck was in great shape. Only a small amount of rust in one cab corner, and a small spot under the dash by the vent and like I said brand new motor with paper work . So I went ahead and made a deal, the day I got it home I stripped the bed off and pulled the interior, found a 97' short wide, sure I'm gonna hear some crap over not using a 71 bed, but it's my build. Yall give any advise or ideas yall have thanks. These pictures are a years time bare with me and I will post current pics.

Re: PROJECT HIGH OCTANE 71 c-10

Was beginning to wonder if anyone was gonna check it out lol. Paint scheme is antifreeze green with blue gold pearl and black , so went with custom sown green seats. Once its all done I think it will work out nice.

Re: PROJECT HIGH OCTANE 71 c-10

Thanks firethorn. I try to be as original as possible, kinda hard on this site. There so many good ideas and nice vehicles on here you can only do so much. Today I got the back half of the frame sand blasted, and coated with rust cure supposed to be awesome stuff we will see, also started fabbing up my console. Should be done with most of it tommorow.

Re: PROJECT HIGH OCTANE 71 c-10

Just found out I won a complete air ride system for my truck at the car show, and I was outside so they gave it to someone else. That's about how my luck is, the value was almost 5,000 dollars it was the top prize. I hate my life!!!!!

Re: PROJECT HIGH OCTANE 71 c-10

They would have given you 1099 on the system, so it wasn;t free, it would have cost you 2000 or so in taxes.

Re: PROJECT HIGH OCTANE 71 c-10

I won a set of 20's last year at another show off a 1 dollar raffle. They were 1,000 dollars at the shop where I picked them up, and I got them free and clear, was it because of the value difference?

Re: PROJECT HIGH OCTANE 71 c-10

console looks good and sorry you didn't get the prize....but yes, legally anything over 600 has to be reported so they messed up on the rims and you'd have had a hefty tax bill with that suspension kit (although still better than paying retail )

Re: PROJECT HIGH OCTANE 71 c-10

They just forgot to 1099 you, BTW, you are lucky, I've never won anything.

You should get a 1099 on anything over $600.00
