87 seat in my 72??

so my father inlaw has a very nice bench seat in a 87 part truck he bought, my question is will it fit in my 72 and if so what would I have to do to make it fit? I am assuming I will have to transfer the seat brackets and slide from under my 72 seat to the 87 seat right? Would it be a fairly simple swap or worth looking for something else..

Re: 87 seat in my 72??

sorry willie I was thinking you had it for sale

So do you guys think the rails on the 72 seat will bolt up to the 87 seat as long as they are the same width and all I need to do is relocate a few holes?

Re: 87 seat in my 72??

got the seat in, all we did was drill 4 new holes... only thing the seat sits a tad too low for my liking so I think I will fab up some blocks or something to lift the seat up two inches and it will be all good. But it looks nice and it is alot more comfortable than the original seat....
