$250 for frame and A arm sandblast fair price?
So I got quoted $250 for a complete sandblasting of a SWB frame and A arms. That's $125/hr estimated at 2 hrs. The frame is pretty clean from grease and gunk, just some surface rust and what looks like old rattle can spray. Fair price???

being an ex sandblaster/powder coater these things always end up taking longer than you thought they would... so $250's prob. not to bad.... we only charged $75/hr....

Re: $250 for frame and A arm sandblast fair price?
-
It cost me $65 to have my bare shortbed frame blasted a couple of years ago. The guy told me to leave it and come back in an hour. I did and he had it done and did a good job... He had a commercial blast setup. It should not take two hours if he has a decent setup. LockDoc

Re: $250 for frame and A arm sandblast fair price?
Thanks, I have seen people post that they have paid around $150, some more, some less. Maybe I'll agree with his price, but throw in a couple other things for him to sandblast to make it a deal..... This shop also will come and pick up the chassis and drop it off included in the price if I am within 30 mi. of the shop (which I am) so that is a bonus too.

Re: $250 for frame and A arm sandblast fair price?
mine cost $250 to blast as a rolling chassis, it was pretty clean as well and I would do it again even if it cost more. The blasters said it took 3.5hrs but they took the time to do under the upper spring pockets and even remove the wheels and tires to clean up the drums, that's a good deal for you with the delivery etc

Re: $250 for frame and A arm sandblast fair price?
That's a good deal, about a month ago I ask how much it will cost me to sandblast the chassis of my 68 suburban, the guy told me 800, I thought it was high, if I do the powdercoating is 200 more.

The pick up/delivery would be a bonus. Sounds pretty good to us.

Re: $250 for frame and A arm sandblast fair price?
having done it myself at home using my 60 gal air compressor, I would gladly pay $250 to have someone else do it. It took me a long time, and its a dirty, nasty job. Not to mention I had to buy the sandblaster, sand, and respirator.

Yes, the pick up and drop off would make it worth it for me.
