Pic request. for a control arm
I have searched but I cant really find what I am looking for. I need a picture of a control arm. Specifically where the bushings go through the control arm. I cant tell if my bushing is trashed on my control arm or the actual control arm itself. So I need something to compare it to before I tear apart my suspension.

Ok went out and crawled under the truck to take some pics tonight.
So what do yall think? bad control arm or just the bushing? Truck was in an accident a few years ago and I dont think the po actually didnt much to fix it.

If the holes on the arm aren't wallowed out or damaged in any way then it will be OK, but you should definately replace the shaft & bushing.

Replace the control arm. It looks like the part that sticks out and the bushing threads into is wallered out completely. You won't have anything to thread new bushing into or for it to seat against. Eightbangers pic is what it should look like. Nice tube shape sticking out from control arm, nice flat seat for bushing to set against. Good luck. Jim

Ok thanks yall. I couldnt tell if the control arm had that lip on it or if it was the bushing. The arm is toast for sure and would explain why my front tires are only lasting for a year. Ill put a new arm on it this fall when it cools off outside and new springs all around.

Wouldn't drive it like that. It looks like it could pull the control arm off the shaft anytime. That hole is way wollered out. Not safe in my opinion. Jim

I dont drive it much, usually ride the Harley much cheaper on gas. But it has been that way for the two and a half years I have owned it. It will get changed once it cools off enough to work on it. 110 is just a litttle out of my comfort zone for working on the truck.
