Should I get a bigger fan?
I have the original 4 blade fan. 307 small block. As long as I have it torn apart should I get a bigger fan? If so can you advise what I should get?

Re: Should I get a bigger fan?
You say its the original? Of there is nothing wrong with it I would leave it. Why were you thinking of a bigger one?

Re: Should I get a bigger fan?
There's nothing wrong with it. It just looks small now that I have everything painted up and looking pretty, and I'm reading posts about people having trouble with their engine running hot so I thought I'd ask for advice while it's easy to get to.

Re: Should I get a bigger fan?
The fan on my stock 350 was a 4 blade one without a clutch. It worked great and kept the engine cool just fine.

Re: Should I get a bigger fan?
And now, an opposing opinion. Fixed-blade fans are dead reliable, but I have never liked them. They pull air all the time, which also means they are noisy and rob power. A clutch fan pulls more air at idle and low engine speeds, and releases (for the most part) when not needed.
I'd take measurements and hit up junkyards for a clutch fan from a full size late-model GM car or truck. In fact, I have done exactly that! .02
