Help!!!!

I am having an issue with my 83 c10.If I touch the hood or the grille mount I get shocked. I am not sure what is causing this. The truck is off and nothing is on inside the truck, lights are off. Anyone know what could be causing this. It came about because my truck was dead this morning so I had to get a jump. Took the battery in to have it tested and it is good, but only had 35% charge when I brought it in, so they charged it and it is good. Brought the battery home put it back in the truck and took it back to have the alternator checked and it is bad, but I drove the truck home and was going to pull out the alternator, but got shocked by hood and grille mount!

Re: Help!!!!

You have some bad grounds more than likely. Check your ground from the battery to the block, block to the cab, fame to the cab, frame to the box, etc.

The poor ground is causing the truck to use you as a ground. My first guess would be the ground from the battery to the block. How is that cable? Is it large? Connection tight and free of corrosion?

Re: Help!!!!

ok, That is kinda what I thought, but was not sure. I checked the ground from the battery to the block, and that looks good. I will check the rest of them. Do you think that this would cause the battery to drain itself, it shouldn't be right?

Re: Help!!!!

Make sure there is a ground strap from the engine to the frame, and also one from the body to the frame. Bad grounds will cause MANY issues.
