1947 ADB my build
The 47 as found and delivered. The arrow points to the fuel filler. The owners had hacked
a later model gas tank into the cab and did a bad job of it. It is a real 47 as confirmed by door VIN and the previous owner who bought it used in 1950.  8 months later:

I tend to keep kinda busy. I took that F1 from stock suspension to Mustang II and 9" Ford on a 4 link roller in one weekend. This week, I am not busy, so I am posting a bit more, showing off some stuff.
Lots of folks think they don't have time to do these things, but I have a full time job and do this on the evenings and weekends, many times while on call. You have to get started to get finished.  FYI, those front 4 link brackets are on backwards because TCI can't write instructions worth a flying monkey. The anti-sway on the rear did not fit and was from the wrong year, thanks CPP for wasting my time on that and the defective brake mounts. Sure they made it right, but it cost me time, shipping, and time, for which I was not compensated for and no apologies were made.... Last edited by wildearp; 08-06-2011 at 10:11 AM. |

Looking good.
Did you install a forward hinge on your hood or is it just sitting like that? I have been thinking about it and there used to be one on the market from No limit but they are discontinued so I would be on my own. Trouble is I have a supercharger and the air cleaner is 3/4" from the hood and the forward hinge systems required a brace if I am not mistaken.

I used the kit from No Limit. I had to assemble it correctly, and then modify almost every part to make it work. I was minutes away from giving up on it and sending it back, and it finally was close enough, and just barely. There is no way I could recommend this kit, and I don't think they sell it anymore.
Funny thing is that a magazine they advertise heavily with, did an article that really praised the kit and how everything fit perfectly. |

wildearp, I am glad to see that I am not the only one that has problems with parts that are made, and never seem to work or properly fit. I have a joke with my buddies that EVERY thing you buy just bolts right up and if it does not, that they are just putting it on wrong. Nice looking truck.
