TH350 Transmission Help!
WHAT'S Up Everyone!
Well, its been a while since I've been on here (been busy with work)... I finally have time and a little bit extra $ to work on my '85. Heres the question/what I did.... My Transmission was leaking from the pan, so this weekend I went to O'Rileys and got the new gasket and a gallon of transmission fluid. I took off the pan and let it drain (Friday Night). I went to put on the new gasket and it happend to be the wrong one. So today I went back to the store with my transmission pan and got the correct gasket. I put on the new gasket and put in about 3.5 quarts of the transmission fluid and let it settle in. I went to put it in drive and NOTHING!! The truck drove before I changed that gasket.... (when I found out it was low on fluid all I did was add 2 Quarts of ATF, and by the next day it had leaked out) Right now I am unable to check to see if there is enough fluid because the tip of the dip stick was broken inside the tube close to the pan. So I guess my question would be: How much fluid is actually needed in an TH350? OR Do I have bigger problems?....

Re: TH350 Transmission Help!
Thanks for Responding Motornut,
I got it to work now... Yesterday I stopped by a local salvage yard and picked up a dipstick and a coolant overflow cap for the truck. I checked the level and sure enough it was low... added another quart. So looks like the amount of ATF needed is about 4.5 - 5 Quarts. I was able to drive the truck around the block a few times so its all good now....
