Tubular trans cross members?
Has any one here ever made their own transmission cross member? I have access to everything to build one at work but nothing to go off of for a template. A few question I have are, what length to make it (side to side) and whether or not there is any kind of bend in it or just a straight shot side to side between the frame rails.

For length it depends on if you plan to mount it on the horizontal or vertical plane of the frame rail. I try & build them like the factory, just stronger/HD. Mine fasten @ both the top & bottom lip of the frame rail & then I add a triangulating gusset so it's more structural vs. just bolting it to one or the other. Google an ECE x-member or TCI (streetrods, not the trans co) for ideas.

Re: Tubular trans cross members?
Thanks SCOTI, I've been looking into it a little. I think I'm gonna go with a straight rail and mount it like factory.
Any one happen to have the dimensions for the mount pad. I've been googling it and haven't seen it yet. But I'm gonna keep looking.
