alt bracket hunt

having trouble finding an alternator bracket for a 71 c10 it has the short water pump. thought it would be easy to find but no luCk yet. anybody got ideas THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

As Geoff said these are plentiful. Most vendor sell them new for about 90 bucks. most parters ask about 30 bucks plus shipping. There is a two piece set on the parts board right now for 36 bucks.

from what you described its hard to give you an answer. maybe show some pictures of your motor area. I had a problem just like this but mine was with my 383 stroker and the heads did not have tapped holes so I was unable to mount the alternator in the stock area with out making a special bracket. so I am not sure if this maybe your problem also.

the alt bracket that bolts to the driver's side head, i got from the chevy dealer last year.

Sorry to get a little off topic here or hijack thread but it's kind of relevant. Will these brackets fit on vortec heads? there are a couple threaded holes but I don't know if they are in the right place. Has anyone put factory brackets on these heads?
