two vin tags, same number
has anyone ever seen this ? I was removing the rubber floor mat and found a second vin tag with the same number. my guess is , it was misplaced during assembly and a new one was made. woody

Re: two vin tags, same number
Never seen something like that. Your guess seems very likely to be the case to me. The "lost" tag doesn't appear to have been mounted.

Maybe that is your winning lotto ticket, like find the pack with the purple M&M. Awesome find!

Re: two vin tags, same number
No sir, never seen that one. The Feds wouldn't have been happy to know that had happened. What a fluke? Just think,a person could put that on a second truck and run with swapping the same set of tags from one to the other and technically be legit.

Re: two vin tags, same number
pretty cool.
Back when i was younger and dumber, I had two old VWs and just one insurance card and one tag. just swapped it over to the one that i was driving, cops never checked the VIN. But this would even be better... |

Re: two vin tags, same number
you can just see the worker at the Baltimore plant..where that one was made..laying it down...turning around...another worker threw in the rubber mat...and then he could not find it...Hit the red button and shut down the line...so he could fix it..
yes i say super rare...like a misstamped coin...you dont see that at all..very cool...I say gm should give you a new truck for fiding there screwup... my rollback is a 69...tilt,tach,bucket seats..a/c ..with headliner...but on the glovebox it does say headliner..but the roof was not cut for it..they glued it on and ran screws into it..,gm screw up..LOL |
