Re: What did your truck look like when you got her?

Some very nice transformations!!!

I bought the truck last Sept (2010)
This is where I am at today. Bed to be put on by the end of the week (woodless though)
Approx 600 hours in the build (and a few 6 packs ) inc bodywork and paint and putting it together. The only thing I didn't do was build the motor (White Racing Engines), the 200-4r and the rear.

Here's mine about 15 minutes after I purchased her in Reno Nv. Made the purchase, drove her about 7 miles down I-80 and parked in the Summit Racing parking lot. 2 hours later drove her 85 miles home down the highway.

Thumbs up Re: What did your truck look like when you got her?

My very first automobile was My 62 Chevy Pickup Truck! I haved owned it since 1994! Learned how to Drive a 3 speed on the columb during High School! Had to hold it in third gear for years, because she jumped out of gear! Also I had a hard time getting it to go in 2nd sometimes due to the linkages. She had a the 235 inline six banger in her that my dad rebuilt! When ever I went over 55mph it whistled! I crap you not! West coast mirrors. She had white wagon wheels with snow tires on it! No bed floor! Diamond plated rusted piece of metal over the bed. She's came a long way. Will try to find old photos to scan and post it on my Build Thread!
She looked similar to this.

Re: What did your truck look like when you got her?

This is mine the day my wife bought it for me. Soon after I got it, the motor started knocking (go figure). For $2K, what did I expect, right? I bought a 350/700R4 combo and installed it and been driving since then. The tires that came with it rubbed the fenders all the way around and the last pic is where the tire snatched down the two-piece replacement fender (that wasn't welded together). Well, I wanted it lower than stock, so I sold the flotation tires and bought some steel rallye wheels and tires and re-primed the whole thing. I am currently saving up for a real paint job and some 18 or 20 inch wheels. I really like the satin black, so I think I will go that direction. Black goes with everything, right?

Here's my $400 60 short step big window the day I got her.

If anyone wants that hood for patches by the way, it's free for the taking.
