Pic of my custom fuel cell

Here is a pic of the custom fuel cell that is being built for me by fellow boardmember FuelCellGuy. Hasn't been shipped yet but I am very excited to get it. Looks like awesome workmanship and his pricing is very reasonable. This is custom built to fit against my truck's headache rack and it's lines follow the lines of the headache rack's support member.

Here's a link to more build pics.

Got to get it here first, then I would have to clean the flat bed off as it has some how turned into a storage/work bench since disassembling the truck.

Is it Tig welded or Mig welded. Doesn't matter just wondering.

There have been numerous posts about relocating gas tanks in our 67-72's. Lots of arguments about where to put it, or just to leave it where GM installed it. The only viable place for ME to have mine, short of where GM put it, is in the bed. When my truck is finished, I plan to have the bed done with a Rhino Liner (or similar compound) and covered with a tonneau (hard or soft). So putting the tank in the front of the bed will be MY choice. A baffled, aluminum tank would be nice, and should still give me a 20-25 gallon capacity. Hauling chores will be nil in the finished truck, with a trailer being the method of choice, instead of the bed.

The tank looks nice, and I am sure will be a source of pride for many years.

Capacity and size....

A 30 gallon tank would be 12" x 12" x 48" long. That is where I put my tank, in the bed at the front of the bed. You can see it on my website. I sold that one. Now, I am faced with the task of building myself a new cell. It will be something off the wall. Keep your eyes peeled. Later, FCG
